We started ordering produce from Papa Spuds in Durham, NC.
Our first order came today and looked super fabulous! I am actually surprised how great it was.
I juiced a few of the veggies for Fred and I: 1 beet, 4 carrots, 1 apple, & a cucumber. Not my best recipe but it is fun to start using the veggies! I will post pictures later.

February Review
February Review
I have not done routines in February. The house completely fell apart. I did all of the laundry on the weekends and the house was generally a mess.
I am mad that I did not keep up with flylady.com. I totally ignored morning, afternoon, and evening routines. Charlie and Carrie Beth have been doing pretty good with the morning routine. However, that is where it has stopped.
Me ma Noon has come to Durham for a long visit. In order to get ready for her visit I did a couple of things. First, about a week before she was scheduled to arrive Charlie, Carrie Beth and I cleaned their bedrooms and the middle room. By encouraging the morning routine and picking up at night before bed we were able to maintain the upstairs. Since Me ma arrived on Monday I had the weekend to get ready. So, Friday night Charlie and Fred went to the Flyer's vs. Hurricane's game. Carrie Beth and I did a detailed cleaning/straightening of the downstairs. (I owe Carrie Beth a prize for her help). She really worked hard and helped me accomplish a lot. We did a typical crisis clean. We We worked hard for 15 minuets and then took Kai for a walk around the circle. Carrie Beth loved helping and walking the dog. I was was very impressed with her willingness to assist with the cleaning.
Saturday and Sunday I continued to work on small cleaning projects and got the laundry caught up. Monday morning all we had left was the dusting and vacuuming. Overall, it was not hard to get ready but I know I had been up on the house routines I would have not had hardly anything to do.
Me ma arrived right on time at Noon!
Have a great day, Nicole

Day 13
Morning routine was good. I am so proud of both kids they are really getting into the morning routine. That is about all that we have consistently done. Well, the laundry is also in great shape. So far, I have not skipped any laundry days.
Today I went to CVS to pick up a prescription. They had a table of toys that were 75% off. I must say I was VERY tempted to buy some toys. They had Bendaroos. I know Carrie Beth enjoyses playing with them. I picked up the box twice to look for a price. It was a difficult choice however I DID IT!! I left CVS without buying the toy. I am so excited that I did it. Small Success!!

Day 12
Today was a very good day! The kids had a 2 hour delay and I was out of school due to ice. I worked hard in the kitchen. Nothing else to report. Tomorrow I will go back to work on time...back to reality.

time 4 bed
I almost time 4 bed.aI just 8 ice cream.
Day 11: The Day of the Toy Shelves and Kids Bedrooms!
Today we had a ice day! We thought we were going to get 4-6 inches of snow but we got about .2 inches of ice. So we had a family day at home! Extended weekend! I have been wanting to organize the kids toys for a while. So today was my day. I forgot to take the before picture but here is the during:

AFTER! YEAH!
The kids worked on their morning routines while I was working on the toys. After they finished their rooms they helped me with the toys. All that only took about an hour or two. It was not that bad. It feels really good to have that organized. Carrie Beth had a lot of fun playing with toys that she could not find before. Now all of the like like toys are together so when they play they will have what they need. In the future, we are going to consolidate the shelves and probably move them into the kids room so we can decorate this room. I would like to have an unusual couch and maybe a TV on the wall so we can get rid of the white shelves and large entertainment center.
Routines were OK. The kids did theirs but I only did a little of mine. Fred got up and made us a great breakfast. Then I began the upstairs project. After that the kids were in and out playing in the ice. I cooked a nice dinner for the family and then it was play, bath, and bed for the kids. I just found out that DPS is closed for staff and students tomorrow. So, I will be home again. The kids will go into school on a 2 hour delay as of now. So, the kids are staying up until 9:00 tonight. They are very excited about that.

Day 10 Mom's Birthday
Happy Birthday Mom!
Monday! Home blessing Day. Goal: Today I am going to get back on track. Today I was able to get our house back in order. I did a mini home blessing by dusting and generally picking up the miscellaneous items that were deposited in the kitchen. Somehow, it seems that the kitchen is the "hot spot!"
The biggest success that I see so far personally is laundry. I hardly have any laundry in the dirty baskets. It has not been much trouble at all. So far it has been about 1 to 2 loads per day. The key for me is to not skip a day.
Fred and I put the Christmas decorations up on the shelves in the garage tonight and Fred did some work in the laundry room. Fred is still kind of making fun of my blog. But, I think blogging is helping me really think about what I am doing with flylady and spending.
I can not believe that it in January 10th. Really, it feels like I have been doing this forever. 2011 is starting off as a really long year. I have several things to encourage me to continue to keep me on the routine track. Fred's mom is going to come for a visit at the end of February and I am having book club here in March.
I have not done any shopping. I ordered groceries on Saturday just in case of bad weather. We are having some snow/ice today and tomorrow. We already have a delay of 2 hours for both schools tomorrow. I joined the mailing list for free cycle today. I got the Hanna Anderson catalog in the mail today. I started to flip through it and was looking at some shorts. I showed them to Carrie Beth and told her I might order them for her. Then I caught myself and said, never mind I am not buying anything new this year. I tossed the catalog right in the trash.
Tonight I need to tidy the kitchen again. Other than that the house in pretty good shape. The kids are doing great with their routines. I need to declutter the shelves that house the toys. There are many toys that need to be given away. If school is closed tomorrow I am going to work on those shelves. The kids don't really want to do it but they LOVE it when it is done. I will do before and after pictures and jazz up this little blog.
Have a great night Love, Nicole

Day 7!
Last night I did not spend enough time on my routines. I could tell this morning that I had not prepared for my day. It made me think about how much the routines help the family to function smoothly.
Charlie had not laid out his clothes and could not find any jeans that he liked. He is quite particular about his jeans. Overall, the kids are doing their morning routine's without much complaining or reminding. Even though we are not completely following our routines life is still better. At least we are aware of what we need to do.
I have not done anything in Flylady's Zone 1 since Tuesday. Today I did my morning routine after I got off work. This weekend I plan to look at the menu for next week and do the missions I missed for Zone 1.
Small Success:

Day 6: It is almost Friday!
Some things are getting easier and somethings are getting harder. It is harder to get up. It is easier to get the kids out the door.
So, I guess it takes about 3 days of school and work to get me back into a bedtime routine!! I am such a night owl. I get my energy at night, even when I am tired I catch a second wind about 10:00 when I should be going to bed. I have been that way for as long as I can remember. The daily grind has caught up with me and I am starting to go to bed a little earlier.
We have been doing very good on the routines. Morning routine is going better than the nightly routine. I do better if I do my nightly routine earlier in the afternoon. I get energy at night but I do fun things like facebook, blog, read blogs, surf the web...you know...what I want to do.
Oh, I went to Target this afternoon to fill a prescription. I know this was going to be hard. I looked around and picked up some groceries. The prescription took longer than expected so I had to leave and pick up Carrie Beth and Kaity from Brownies. The little girls went back to Target with me. On the way I told them if they would walk fast and stay with me that I would buy them a small treat. I was thinking candy/gum when I said it. When Kaity asked if she could shop in the Dollar Spot I said sure. WHAT? I CAN'T DO THAT!! I just told my friends daughter that I would buy her something from the Dollar Spot at Target. I did not have the heart to go back on my word. So, I made it to day 6 before I bought something new. I did talk Carrie Beth into a candy bar...I am not sure that is the goal of this project but anyway that is what happened. It is kind of funny. I am still going to continue to not buy new items I just had a momentary lapse of reason! HA!!

- Laundry is going well 1 or 2 loads per day is what it takes
- We did not eat fast food this week.
- Mornings are smoother but kids are still SLOW!
- The house is in pretty good shape.

Day 5:
Yesterday, Already...I can tell the daily blog is going to be a challenge. Tonight I need to do day 4-6. I had so much I wanted to write yesterday and now I can not remember any of the cute stories. That is really a shame.
I know that the kids and I all did well on our routines. Fred has been very helpful. I have done several of Flylady's missions. Laundry is in a good place. I am satisfied with how the house is looking. We are getting along well and eating at home.
Have a great night! Love, Nicole

Day 4: It was a good day!
Back to reality! We did great today. Our morning went well and the kids were excited to get back to school. I have put in all of my appointments, sports, and activities in in the Cozi Calendar. The funny part about that is I went to Carrie Beth's orthodontist and they told me that it was scheduled for Jan. 18. OK, so we were a little bit early...like 2 weeks early. Fortunately, they were able to quickly able loop a wire around the button and pull that little tooth down. She will have a super fabulous smile very soon!! Our second scheduled activity was a home BCA basketball game. We arrived at the gym and we were the only ones there. This was not my mistake...it was changed from the original schedule. Everything worked out fine and we had more time at home.
BCA did not assign homework this week so that was very helpful in the adjustment back to school.
I did not do any shopping today so I am still doing good on the shopping area! Now I just need to double check my calendar!

Day 3: Our Last day of Christmas Break
Day 3
Today we had a wonderful day. We slept in and then did most of our morning routine. The kids and I went out and played most of the day. It was great fun. We picked up the groceries on the way home. The kids helped me unload the groceries and we started to straighten up the kitchen and fix dinner. Before we ate we went upstairs and I checked their morning routine (even though it was about 5 o'clock!). Carrie Beth did not know why I needed to "check" her routine! We changed Charlie's bed, straighted up and vacuumed. When Fred got home he helped put the living room back together. All of the family worked together!
Small success: While we were out playing I stopped by the Hallmark store to mail a package. In the past I would have just bought the packing supplies and mailed it right on the spot. But, since I had what I needed at home I just bought the correct postage and packaged it up an put it in my mailbox for free!
The kids and I stopped by the Walmart and we only bought food! I picked up a cool coffee mug that I might use as a gift. However, I knew I would have to add to the gift so I put it back and thought I could just buy one larger item. Another small success!

Day 2: Frist Day of "not" Shopping :)
Day 2
Routines went OK today. Both the kids and I did most of our morning routine and I continued to de Christmas the house. Fred helped a lot with the de Christmasing work. I think we have 95% of the Christmas stuff out in the garage. I know this is only Day 2 of the project and I am at the end of a long vacation but I feel really good about the progress that I am making in the house. Several unexpected positive things have happened today.
Well, I have survived my first shopping trip without purchasing anything new! My girlfriend asked me to go shopping with her to help her spend her Christmas Gift Cards! We went out to lunch and shopping. We had a great time visiting and spending her money! I was not tempted to buy anything for myself however, I did pick up a book I was thinking about for Carrie Beth. As soon as I picked it up I put it back down and thought to myself...maybe I will see that at the thrift store. Ha! Anyway, I am proud that I made it out and back without buying anything new.
I asked my friend who I was shopping with if she thought I could go a year without buying anything new? She said NO WAY!! Well, we will see. At least I am going to be well aware of what I am buying and thinking twice before I buy new.
While I was shopping Fred took the kids to lunch and a craft store to purchase items for the Pinewood Derby. The kids also bought some craft material with their Christmas money. I am going to have to check and see how much Christmas money is left!!

Happy New Year!!
Well today is the first day of Project 2011! The Noon family returned home on 12/31/10 from a 10 day beach trip! We had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. I am in the process of unpacking and intentionally starting routines too! Today has gone well but we are not completely unpacked yet. I did part of my morning routine and put away most of the stray items that were in the kitchen. Tonight I am going to work on my bedroom and (hopefully) declutter 15 minutes in the living room. The children and I return to school on Tuesday so I feel like I have some time to get my house in order.
I was reviewing Flylady's web page at flylady.net and I signed up for the Cozi Family Calendar. I am looking forward to putting in my family schedules into it!
I hope that you have a Happy New Year!!
Love, Nicole
