Routines are hard!!

Routines are hard!!  I thought that if I put my routines in my Blog that I would start following them.  Well, it has been hard.  I have not gotten started yet.  However, some good things have come from our efforts.  Carrie Beth and Charlie have done much better than me!   Carrie Beth has been making her bed everyday.  She also takes care of some of her other morning routines before she comes down for breakfast.  Charlie is generally neat.  It is easy for him to follow a list.  I think they both like having the structure of a routine.  So, mornings have been smooth for the last couple of weeks.  We did not really do our after school or evening routine.  Carrie Beth has been laying out her school clothes at night.  This has been great for her.

I am not sure if Fred is into this whole 2011 project.  We will just have to see.  I am not sure if I even want to venture into the used items for a year project but I am keeping an open mind and still considering it.

Did I mention that the kids are out for Christmas break?   Hip, Hip, Hooray!!

Nicole’s Routines

My routines are easy to put on paper. (Hard to do in real life). I am just thinking about what I NEED to do to make our days go smooth. When I do not stay on top of the following list we are grumpy, hungry, and generally in a bad mood. When I say we I mean Fred. I go through times when I do this easily and other times when this list is not even something I think about. (Don't even want to think about)! My goal this year is to try to not only be faithful to my routines but to improve the quality of the Noon Family!! Our Project 2011!!

Carrie Beth’s Routines

Carrie Beth was really funny when I told her about typing out the Routines.  She told me that she only wanted to do a morning routine.  When she saw Charlie's morning, after school, and bedtime routine list she wanted one too.  We typed these together and just made minor adjustments for her.  For example, she takes a bath at night and Charlie takes a shower in the morning.  We typed these in Microsoft Word and copied them over to Blogger.  In Microsoft we decorated our list with clip art.  This did not transfer to Blogger.  Too bad.  Anyway we are going to start in the morning with our list.  I will let you know how it goes!!

Charlie's Routines

Charlie really was excited to work on his Routine's.  He came up with the list himself with little help from Mom.  We printed a copy for Fred to review.  He added the Upstairs check.  Overall, I am pleased with Charlie's routines and enthusiasm.  I am hopeful that this will change the way we live.

Charlie's questions:
  • Are we going to get up at the same time as usual? Yes
  • Are we going to start today or tomorrow?  Charlie decided to start tomorrow so we don't get confused.
  • Charlie's Statement:
  • We have a lot to do.  But if we do all of these things soon they will become a habit and we will not even need to look at our list.  Wow!  Where did that come from?

Charlie Turns 9

Charlie Noon born March 10th 2001

Charlie on March 10, 2010 opening his birthday gifts after school.  We went to cub scouts on your birthday.  You scout friends had a special party for you during snack.

Charlie trying out his scooter given to him by our great neighbors!
Charlie you are such a sweet child.  You love to play outside, swim, watch TV, play DSi, play with friends,  tennis, read, and play with sister.

You are helpful, funny, loving, and silly.

You weigh 93 pounds and are 4 feet 8 inched tall.  You grew 3 inches this year!

We celebrated you birthday by having 3 of your friends come over for a sleepover.  I took you and your friends rollerskating, we rented movies, ate pizza and stayed up all night.  Really, I did not hear anyone after the last movie around 2AM.

Really?

Fred: Nicole, you need to start turning off some lights in this house. Or, I am going to quit changing the light bulbs.
Nicole: I think I just changed the bulb in kitchen.
Fred: Well, you need to change another one.
